I was upgrading xscreensaver today and found a new module in called webcollage. It basically makes a collage from random pictures collected off the web. Click for more info...
From the little bit I've looked at the script (it's Perl), it seems to retrieve pictures two ways.
The first is by grabbing a few random words from the UNIX dictionary file (/usr/dict/words on most machines) and searching AltaVista's media finder thingy for those words.
The second uses Yahoo'd random link script to find a random page and lokos for images there.
It's interesting stuff. jwz rocks.
