you know you've always been dying to find the full text transcript of the blues brothers. I dare you to memorize it.

I did a lot of work on eThreads today, trying to get it ready for Gospelcom to use. It's really coming along well. I'm impressed (and I wrote the thing). It's getting big, too... It's like 4000 lines now. Something like 153kb of code.
The mp3 player I'm working on is getting totally redesigned... If you care, click the title for more.
now i really feel like i've given into the dark side... I just installed Windows 95. Granted, it was only onto a virtual drive to work inside vmware (which is run from Linux), but... still...
My hip has been bothering me all day (I think I slept on it wrong or something), but like 10 minutes ago the muscle just completely locked up... i can't even stand up right now, or even lift my right leg under its own power for that matter. i guess i might be here for a while...
After you've read my rant on people blaming the medium, you can check out Salon's rant on the same issue. Luckily for you, they actually know proper writing...
How come every time there's some tragedy somewhere, it's always the medium that gets blamed, and noone ever admits that some people are just really messed up? The massacre in Colorado is a perfect example. Click to read my rantings on the issue...
Everyone should read The Onion. If you haven't read their book, just run to the store and get it. It's that good. Some of the articles online this week are great too. Especially the hungry hippos one... that's classic
We finally won today. It wasn't the prettiest win ever (we were down 10-3 going into the top of the 7th), but we came back and won 12-10. For more, click the title...
I have an insane number of mp3's. I just put together a new playlist with only the stuff I'm in the mood for right now, and it's 10 hours long. And that's nowhere near everything... you gotta love it.
I wanna proclaim myself something... Not govenor, though. they're tough on govenors.
The new eThreads-based news system is up and running. Lots of cool new stuff. Click the title for more info...
I went to see EdTV last night. Not only was it an entertaining movie, it really made me think. Definantly one you want to see. I'll probably write a longer rant on it later, but not now.
The more music I listen to, the more I just come back to Massive Attack's CD, Blue Lines. It may be 8 years old, but that's just great music.
We had our second and third baseball games today. Well, five innings of the third, but it still counts. We played Mona Shores in a double-header. We lost both games, first 13-10, second 10-7, but we played a lot better. I went 1-4 in the first with a single and a run, and 1-2 in the second with a double and a walk. We still have tons of room for improvement (who doesn't), but we're looking a lot better.
The problem with Spring Break is it gives you just enough of a taste of summer that there's no way you want to go back to school. Oh well.
I just did some more work on the mp3 player. If the file has an embedded ID3 tag, the player now logs that info instead of the filename. Now I just have to put ID3 tags on all my files... fun, fun, fun...
More work on the mp3 player... I changed it to write to a MySQL database so I can read it from a Perl script. I've set up a little demo page here. It shows the last 10 songs I've listened to.
i recompiled x11amp today and it started leaking memory. I took that as inspiration and started my new mp3 player frontend. I've been looking around for a player that would output the filename of the current song to a text file so that I could include it somewhere here (sort of a "what I'm listening to right now" type thing), but I haven't been able to find one. So I'm writing a frontend to mpg123. Right now it opens a playlist, randomizes it, plays mp3's, and writes the text file. Not a bad start for 15 minutes of work, but it's still got a long way to go. I'm planning on a GUI using Gtk::Perl if I ever get around to it.
As you probably notice (unless you're visiting this very brief expanse of wasteland for the first time), the layout changed. I finally got Gimp re-compiled (after who knows how long of trying), so I'm experimenting. I don't know if I like it yet... Let me know what you think.
It's Spring Break, and I'm loving it. Now if the weather would just get better...
