Just on the off-chance that anyone actually reads this page, I figured I should mention here that come October I'm going to be looking for a job. Click for details.

Since I'm still under the burden of forced education, anything I do would have to be tele-commuting doing this school year. I plan on being able to put in 40'ish hours a week, so I'm looking for a full-time position.

I don't know why you would be here if you don't already know my background, but I'll do a little summary of my experience here anyway.

For the last 4 years I've worked for the Gospel Communications Network doing streaming media and Perl programming. I've also dabbled in doing contract work doing that time under the guise of the gonzo project. My most recent contracting work was setting up forum hosting for Torresen Marina.

I've very well versed in Perl, especially as it relates to dynamic web content (although I have dabbled with IPC through sockets and shared memory, as well as some GTK GUI work). My largest showcase of Perl (at 11000+ lines) is the eThreads content engine, but you can get a taste for some smaller stuff I've toyed with over at eScripting.

I've also worked very extensively in digital video, including being responsible for supporting Gospelcom's RealServer installation. I've dealt extensively with converting content from physical media to RealMedia, and am also familiar with video production.

I don't claim to be a graphic artist, but I did do all HTML and graphics for this site, as well as tgp and eThreads.

I am a firm believer in open-source, and have run Linux almost exclusively for the last few years, so I'm not real likely to be interested in a Microsoft shop.
