Inside ESPN Zone

Entering the front door, patrons have the choice of visiting the restaurant and Collection store downstairs or the Sports Arena game room and Hole 19 bar upstairs. The ESPN Zone Collection store offers ESPN and ESPN Zone branded merchandise. The facility features four bars. This one looks onto the Screening Room. Booths next to this bar offer screens with channel changing controls. Inside the Screening Room, a wall of screens includes the line of 50" units up top and 103" screens flanking the large center screen assembled from three 103" sets. The Screening Room features both booths and tables, and is overlooked by the private skyboxes. Booths in the Screening Room feature touchscreen TVs that offer access to any channel available in the restaurant. The Grill Room offers an experience more centered on the food than on the game. Three skyboxes, connected to the VIP Room bar, seat 14 to 16 guests and overlook the Screening Room. They feature their own TV and sound controls. Upstairs, the Sports Arena offers a chance to get into the game. The Sports Arena rounds the corner upstairs, opening up to a much larger space than a visitor might first expect. Sega's Outrun2 SP offers four teams of two the chance to race. Paired drivers tag-team their way around the course. AMC's Highway 66 system offers two lanes of mini-bowling action. The upstairs Hole 19 bar is casual, intended for those awaiting a table or with friends in the game room. The Plaza Balcony, off the Hole 19 bar, features a half dozen tables with a great overview of Nokia Plaza. This console, in the shadow of Staples Center, is the heart of ESPN Zone's television viewing. From this console a production staff member routes broadcasts from 16 DirectTV dishes to screens around the facility. ESPN Zone, located on the corner of Figueroa and Chick Hearn at L.A. Live. The ESPN Zone patios will add 140 seats to the restaurant's capacity.
