PalmIII

So yesterday I decided it's about time I started using my PalmIII again. I haven't been carrying it since basically the end of last school year. It's too big and bulky to carry around a lot. (I went for the belt-clip type idea last year, but I got tired of that.) Anyway... I've decided to start carrying it again, so I was playing with it and a GoType keyboard. I also found out that since last year, Stevens Creek has added BJC-80 support to their IR printing program. These together bring a truely awesome combination. — Continue Reading...

the circle of life...

I was just looking at one of my old screenshots (the 12/24/98 one), and all of a sudden it hit me that I'm currently using that same background image on my Netscape desktop. Weird. (Since I'm talking about backgrounds, I have to mention that digital blasphemy rocks.)

camera news

coredump is still camera-less, but I've finally got the camera on pizzabox working. It's set up to be an overhead shot from high above the cubicle.

gar

I just spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out why IRIX couldn't find terminfo on one of the Indys. Despite the fact I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, I finally got it working after realizing that when I moved /usr/share/ to /share/, I forgot to symlink to it...

I'm still debating on which quote I'm going to use for tomorrow. Here are the current front-runners: — Continue Reading...

the wisdom of fortune

I was sitting here reading fortunes, looking for a quote for the "honors assembly," when I saw this:
I have yet to see any problem, however complicated, which, when you looked at it in the right way, did not become still more complicated.

and now, for an afternoon of coding

I'm had my obligatory 60oz of pre-coding Surge, turned off most of the flourescent lights, and put together an 8 1/2 hour playlist of Antiloop, Massive Attack, and Portishead. I'm now officially ready to pound out code.

it's a bird, no it's a plane...

So I'm sitting here working on a Saturday morning, and all of a sudden I hear this fan type noise (over music I was playing) outside the building (that's impressive right there... I never hear stuff outside the building). I get up and walk towards the door, and the noise grows to sound like a jet engine. I then realize it's simply our generator, doing a weekly test run. Wow. That thing's monsterous.

ethreads

Over the last couple days I've slowly been realizing what #{node "7"}eThreads#{/node} really is (or at least is becoming). Forums? Yeah, they're cool, but they're fairly small and easy. eThreads is ready to take over the world. — Continue Reading...

gar... old monitor go boom

So today one of the old monster SGI monitors decides it's had enough of the color green. The green simply cut off. Guess what? This site looks weird without any green...

enlightenment

So I needed to download one of the enlightenment snaps to install on a computer here at school, right, so I try to get on ftp.enlightenment.org, but it's slow as anything. They just had to release 0.16 on the day I wanted to download something, didn't they... Gar. Now I'm just going to wait until tomorrow.

there's a new design again (duh)

I haven't decided if I like it yet, but this is the new look I'm working on... I love the concept, but I don't think it's quite there yet...
