muah haha

I now have the Internet in my bedroom. I am a happy man. I'm also now the owner of my old workstation (as well as the two Indys), so I'm getting back into the habit of 1280x1024 and my big SGI keyboard (big and solid). It's the perfect complement to my big black leather chair and large desk.

I think I'll take a go at putting a camera back online sometime soon. Definitely only selected times, though, as this is my bedroom, and the thought of people watching me sleep isn't a pretty one.

the joy of installing linux

So I'm trying to install Redhat 6.2 on an old 486 with a 420mb hd. Theoretically, that shouldn't be a problem. I've had Linux on the thing before (X and enightenment, even). Not so, however. — Continue Reading...

change of course

SO I've completely changed my phone situation. I now have an Ericsson T28World (the phone I orginally said I wanted) and service from NPI Wireless. They have a webform for sending SMS's, though, so I could write my own email -> webform thingy.

more wireless

As if yesterday's wireless accomplishments weren't enough, I've now one-up'ed them. This post is coming to you via Proxyweb on my PalmIII, online via an infrared connection to the L7089. Muah haha. Now to get ssh and play more...

it's a wireless world

I'm writing this post logged on to the net via the wireless modem in my Motorola Timeport L7089. It's a little sluggish (9600bps), but it's very cool to have.

Since I got back from down under both SMS and data calls have started working for me, causing me to decide to stay with VoiceStream. I'm experimenting with using uReach as my access means for Muskegon people. I get my own toll free 877 number, and I get email to my phone when someone leaves a message. It seems to work great, and it's really cheap (free if you only use the included 30 minutes/month).
