job

Just on the off-chance that anyone actually reads this page, I figured I should mention here that come October I'm going to be looking for a job. Click for details. — Continue Reading...

pids

I just ran a process on the o2 I do audio on and noticed that it was given pid 359261. That tells you something about the uptime on that box. Right now it's at 84 days, 10 hours and 27 minutes. I think I had to move it or something then... The box NEVER crashes, and I run it hard.

That is why I love UNIX.

fs

I really hope SGI's xfs port gets usable soon. I spent a good hour fsck'ing today after a really hard crash (two partitions had to be manually fsck'ed... yuck). Journaled file system... Mmmmm...

On the bright side, I now have everything (expect for the NVidia GL drivers) working under 2.4.0-test6. That's fun.

gar... webcam

Ok, so today I bite the bullet and dive full-force into doing some much needed system work. I compiled a 2.4.0-test6 kernel, merged my SCSI devices onto one controller, and got my old capture card working again. All fine and dandy so far.

So now I figure I'll hook up a camera and use this machine for webcam stuff again, right? Heh. Click for info. — Continue Reading...

Atlanta

I didn't get those PCMCIA issues resolved before I left, but I got here fine none-the-less (and managed to get the PCMCIA stuff working yesterday), and am now hanging out in Atlanta. Right now I'm at IntelliNet, making use of their network to get some work done. — Continue Reading...

date

I didn't really already post tomorrow... Weird...

pcmcia-funkiness

I'm one hour away from flying to Atlanta and sitting here with a notebook whose PCMCIA won't stay up for over 30 seconds. Gar. Must fix... I'm downloading the kernel and pcmcia stuff from RedHat's 7.0 betas right now; hopefully that'll fix it.

finally

Woo hoo! I got it... The site now looks awesome in Mozilla & IE, and very passable in Netscape. I feel cool.

grrr...

So I finally get this looking the way I want it in Netscape, and now Mozilla and IE have to go render it differently. Just my luck that the one time Netscape would actually render CSS the way I intended it, it's not right on the better implemented browsers. Oh well... More tweaking ahead...

Premiere

The full copy of Adobe Premiere 5.1 that I ordered a couple days ago came in today. Muah haha... Look for cool stuff to appear soon. A couple friends and I are currently shooting a little short, now I'll be able to do some cool stuff with it.

new look style

So what do think? Yesterday I hacked this day divider stuff into eThreads weblog module, so I figured I'd try it out here. I like it. I think it's a lot cleaner than the old way. And the cool part? You don't have to use it. If you don't want a divider you just leave it blank in the look theme. Muah haha...

seeing machines

This company claims to have perfected computer head tracking. Imagine the possiblities you could get from the computer responding to eyeball shifts... I want blink clicking... — Continue Reading...
